Bandit Silky Terrier Medfield, MA

Bandit is at the shelter and we are hoping to place him quickly since a shelter is a tough place for an older dog. He is a 10-year-old Silky Terrier who was very loved. His family regretfully gave him up because he is not comfortable around small children and they are about to have their first child. He is a loyal and wonderful dog, but needs an adult-only household. He has lived in a home with two adults and one other dog. While he did get along with the other dog, he does not like all dogs. We were told he excels at curling up on the couch with his master and keeping an eye out for his family.He can be very reactive with loud noises and or new situations, so a quieter household would be best for him.

Bandit is an extremely smart and empathic dog. He always seems to know when you need him. He definitely barks and is caution around strangers until he is used to them. His family wished they could keep him but know he will bring some lucky person lots of joy.

Bandit's adoption fee is $100.

Every dog we place is vaccinated, wormed, treated for ticks/fleas, and spayed/neutered prior to adoption. We send each dog home with a collar and leash and a month's worth of heartworm preventative.
With very few exceptions, dogs are happiest and the most well-behaved when they receive daily exercise and ongoing training, so we always prefer to place our dogs with families who are willing to make a commitment to both.
All adoption meetings are by appointment only as we only have one employee. Our manager or one of our volunteers will be happy to set up an appointment for you to come meet the pets, but please fill out the adoption application first.
