Hi there! I’m Toby, a sweet, fun-loving, energetic dude that also likes to cuddle on the couch. I have a gorgeous brown coat and a handsome face. I am not sure how I ended up in the shelter, but my luck is turning around since my friends at Lucky Dog brought me to DC to find my forever home! I hope you’re ready for a lifetime of fun adventures with me!

I am about 1.5 years old and weigh approximately 47 lbs. No one is certain, but they think I am a lab mix. I love attention, going for runs and walks, playing at the puppy park, and car rides! Since my arrival in DC, I’ve visited the White House, partied at the Cherry Blossom Festival, and watched the sailboats on the Potomac at the Alexandria waterfront. Being outside and active is pretty much my favorite thing.

I am waiting eagerly for a person or family to adopt me and give me the loving home I deserve. I am looking for a family that can devote significant time every day to exercise, playtime, and training. I would love to have a home with a yard, but I’m currently living in an apartment with my foster family and am having a great time here too! I am a very smart boy and already know some basic commands, so I bet I would be a star student at puppy school! I might need some time to adjust to my new home, but I am crate trained and have been doing great with housetraining too.

I can't wait to join you on long walks and hikes, take trips to the dog park to make new puppy friends, play games of fetch, and share lots of adventures with you! At the end of a long day, I would love to cuddle and enjoy some belly rubs and snuggles on the couch.

I love other dogs, and I did great meeting some cats, so I would do well in a home with either. I have met some children in my adventures and love them too! If you have some, Lucky Dog would be happy to have us meet and play together.

Like most shelter dogs, Toby may need a refresher on housetraining. He is likely crate trained.
