Captain Jack Sparrow Labrador Retriever & Great Pyrenees Mix Temple, TX

This is Captain Jack Sparrow - CJ for short. We believe CJ is lab mix (with possible cattle dog) and pyreneese. He is the one puppy in this litter with double dew claws and he is also a special needs puppy. CJ had an eye infection and had to have his left eye removed. I don't think he realizes any difference. He is happy and playful, cuddly and sweet. There is no reason to expect this will impact the other eye or his ability to have a normal life. Blind or partially blind dogs can be some of the most affectionate and obedient dogs. His hearing and sense of smell will make up for the loss of vision in one eye. He is kennel trained, is doing very well on potty training and getting used to other dogs and noises on his blind side, His forever home will need to be committed to continuing the socialization with both dogs and people to prevent anxiety with noises and contact on that side. We are now taking applications for this wonderful little guy. He will be available as a “foster to adopt” after the 2nd set of shots at the end of the month.
