Meet Rizzo

My name is Rizzo, but I think my foster mom should have named me Shadow - I follow her around everywhere! I am a friendly little guy that LOVES my food! When foster mom starts to get my dinner ready, I start dancing around the house! I love to be pet by my foster mom, but I don't like to be picked up. I'm GREAT with other dogs and cats. I haven't spent any time with kids, but I probably would just ignore them.

The vet says I'm about 8 years old, and I am a bit hard of hearing. In no way does it interfere with my life. Nobody knows what breed I am, but I think I'm a terrier/dachshund mix - I have some "lowrider" qualities that make me super cute! I don't really like being in a crate - remember, I just like following my foster mom around! But I am very trustworthy being left out of the crate all day. I'm a mix of being housebroken and pad-trained; I know that once I go outside, it is time to do my business, but there are times I just can't hold it! But my foster mom has pee-pads down, and I use those.

A perfect home for me would be with older adults, with or without other pets. I am neutered, up to date on shots, heartworm negative (and on preventative), and microchipped.

Note from my foster mom...

Reasons Why Deaf Dogs Rock:
1. They can't hear you unwrap your turkey slices in the kitchen for your midnight snack... and you won't feel bad keeping more for yourself.
2. Deaf dogs won't chase the vacuum, or get nervous with fireworks, or bark when the neighbor's dog barks.
3. Deaf dogs can be trained with really cool hand signals, which will impress everyone around you!
4. Deaf dogs are velcro dogs - they need you, and will stick close to you both inside and outside your home.
5. Deaf dogs are full of love and they hear with their hearts.

NOTE: Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.
