Matty (aka Matthew) came into rescue from the Fremont Shelter. You might think he would be shy and damaged by that experience – but this little guy is so happy and he loves EVERYONE! We think he's about 6 years old.
With Matty, you get to wake up to the wiggles every morning. This boy starts wiggling and grunting as soon as he knows you're awake, demanding pets and kisses. (Tip: If you're not ready to get out of bed, you have to bury your entire body and head under the blankets.) He'll root up under your resting hand to get his loving if he has to! He doesn't see why you shouldn't be petting him if you're not using both hands to do something else. He is a polite little guy who also enjoys the company of other dogs, although he would probably be fine without another pet in the house - as long as a human is paying attention to him most of the time he is happy!
Matty isn't very good at playing tug-of-war because he doesn't have a tooth left in his mouth. Although he isn't very old, his teeth were in such bad shape that all of them were removed. He eats dry food softened with a little bit of warm water. He also thinks things less than 3 inches off the floor might belong to him so he occasionally stakes his claim by marking them. A belly band does the trick to keep this little guy from “owning” all your stuff.
Matty is good with dogs of all sizes and strangers. He seems to like kids. He hasn't been tested with cats but he is so easy going I doubt he would have a problem with them. I would classify him as a snuggle bug with a moderate energy level. He is used to sleeping in the bed with his human and being loose in the house. He probably isn't a good candidate for kenneling.

The suggested donation to adopt Mathew is $250, which is tax-deductible and goes toward the high cost of veterinary care for our rescue dogs.

Little White Dog Rescue requires secure fencing as a requirement to adopt the terrier breeds (invisible fencing is NOT acceptable). If chosen as this pet's new forever home you must be willing to drive to Omaha to pick up your new family member at your earliest possible convenience.
