Meet Hibby

Hi, I'm Hibby! I'm a big guy weighing in at about 80lbs (and I've LOST weight). I'm around 6 years old and as sweet as can be. I've been told I'm a pretty awesome guy. I am very well behaved and will sit for your affections, or roll on my back for my favorite thing in the whole world... a belly rub! I've had a rough time in my life thus far. I'm not sure if you've noticed but I'm blind. I was found wondering the streets which is pretty hard to get used to when you can't see! I was lucky that some nice people picked me up and took me back to the shelter. When the plea went out to bust me out of the shelter, MHR scrambled to find me a foster home and agreed to take me in. Life has been AWESOME every since. I get to spend my days getting petted and belly rubs in a loving foster home. I love my foster parents but it's time for me to find my permanent happily ever after!

I've gone to the vet to have my eyes checked to make sure I wasn't in any pain and nothing could be done to help me regain my vision. My eyes do not cause me any pain but I will never fully regain my vision. Luckily for me, I am not totally blind. I can see light, dark and shadows. The fact that I can see a teeny bit helps me adjust to my surroundings like a champ. I still run into things from time to time but all in all I'd say I'm doing great with the adjustments.

I live with dogs of all ages and sizes so I am a well rounded guy but because of my vision issues I would prefer a calmer canine companion. Sometimes the more active dogs sneak up on me to play and scare me! I live with some felines too but we do not care for each other very much so I will need a home without feline friends. I am such a good boy that I would have no problems living with kids either although I am a big boy so older children would be best. I walk really well on a leash and I don't pull so I can be walked easily by people of all sizes. I am potty and crate trained too. I did have a few accidents when I first came to my foster home but after a few days I had it down!

My adoption fee is $150 which includes me being up to date on my shots, microchipped and neutered. Do I sound like a good match for your family? If so, please fill out an adoption inquiry at www.mhrindy.org and the nice folks there will contact you so you can learn how to meet me! Hope to get a belly rub from you soon!

***Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.***
