Beau - update August 20 Husky & Shepherd Mix St Stephen, NB

Update Aug 20: HAMMY, HAM BEAU has come such a long way, but he has some issues that make him a bit of a challenge. He still can be quite easily aroused and over stimulated by things like running and even touch. He has learned to moderate and not use his mouth as much, but that is still in his files, so it will have to be managed. Beau absolutely hates bicycles and his reaction is very strong, lunging and barking. He also does not like children and he needs an adult, dog savvy cat free home. Beau has been good and appropriate with dogs he has met on walks and at the kennels, but he has shown some guarding behaviours with "his" people when a person tries to engage him with another dog present. He will try to keep the other dog away from his person, so he would likely do best as an only dog, but a dog who gets to go on walks and outings with other dogs, as he does enjoy their company. We have noted that tie-out dogs are quite overstimulated by touch. They don't all react to it the same way, but there has been a reaction. Beau is happy with us, he gets to go on lots of outings and meet new people and other dogs, we are sure his perfect home will come along that will help him continue to improve, relax and just be a good "Beau". He is probably about 7 years old. It seems when he gets tired he really wants me to put him on leash and then we just walk. He weighs 51 pounds. He came to us on Mar 1, 2014. He is a bit hard of hearing; higher pitched noises catch his attention. Husky/shepherd/chow.
