Sammo Domestic Short Hair Fargo, ND

Sammo is a large neutered male cat. He's a polydactyl cat with big front mitts. Sam is the most experience of our current office cats: he's been on the job since last summer. He gets along with small numbers of cats, especially females who stand up to him, but the larger colony sizes intimidate Sam.
He started out a bit protective of his role as an office cat and didn't really want other cats with him, but over time he has learned that it's okay to have a few friends around. He lets the elderly cat, Einstein, have the softest bed on top of the Kuranda tower, and he's turned the kitchen over to Gloria, but he's still the king of the desk and ruler of the filing cabinet. Sam is especially fond of male visitors and we have not been successful in teaching him boundaries. When he wants to sit on a lap, he just sits and there's really no dissuading him. However, if there's no one around to have man-to-man time with, Sam has no trouble hopping into a lady's lap and settling in. You may not see him coming, but at well over 13 lbs, you will know when Sam has arrived.
Sam enjoys meeting people at the door and showing them around the shelter and when he's tired of giving tours, he likes to supervise Gail in the office. The busier she is, the more he likes to help!
Much as we love this big guy, we want him to find a forever home of his own (and Gail would like her desk back...when Sam stretches out for a nap, he takes up a lot of room!).
