Dana Treeing Walker Coonhound & Coonhound Mix Cincinnati, OH

Dana came to STAF via one of our rural shelter partners. Dana was due to be euthanized at noon but we did not get any information about her until after. We called at 2pm and by that night she was safe and waiting for her transport to STAF. At the time we thought Dana was the lucky one. Actually we were the lucky ones.

Dana has been at STAF for too long. We're not sure why. Maybe it's the ears, maybe it's the hound. Maybe we just needed to get to know her better.

Dana is an energetic, long-legged beauty so artfully proportioned that she deserved wolf whistles. Which she gets when she plays with her best pals Ferley and Boone. She loves to run and play, and equally loves leaning against your left for some affection time. She is a good walker and rides well in the car. She is lucky enough to attend doggy day care at PetSpot and Red Dog (Thank you both!!!) and I think that they would have a war of words if it came down to who loves her more.

If you are a fan of the long soft velvet ears and the big brown eyes of a hound, and you have the energy for an energetic dog, then you and Dana are a match made in heaven.

Dana's estimated birth date is April 2012. She's a very tall girl and looks bigger than she actually is.

All of our animals are spayed/neutered and current on shots.
You must complete an application at the shelter prior to meeting any of our animals. (Sorry--our application is not available on-line or via email.)
We do not do same-day adoptions; we ask that you return for a follow-up visit before taking an animal home.
We require a fenced yard (sorry--no invisible fences) for homes with children under age 13.
We do request vet and personal references.
At this time, we are only able to consider applicants within 150 miles of Cincinnati.
