Odey and BlueBerry Parrot Pionus Neenah, WI

Odey is a Maximillian Pionus and BlueBerry is a Bronze-Winged Pionus. These two are absolute clowns and they know it. They are not caged together (they fight over the food bowls) but they do need to be adopted together. They get along and will happily groom each other. When let out they will often times be found cuddling.

Odey know and says his name. He will let you scratch his head and chin, closing his eyes in enjoyment. The rest of his body is off limits and he will bite if you go too far. He doesn't step up but has shown interest in learning. He loves to tease by holding his foot up and then putting it down when you get close. Odey does have a strange attachment to his food bowl and doesn't like when people touch it. A distraction is usually necessary to clean and fill it, as well as return it to his cage.

BlueBerry does know his name but does not say it. He does, however, love to hay hi. He is also quite fond of laughing. You can usually get him to do both if you start it first. He will let you scratch his head but, like Odey, will not let you touch the rest of his body. He doesn't seem to be too interested in learning to step up but has shown interest in learning tricks. We started teaching him to spin but so far he only does it when he wants to. Blue loves sitting on the door of his cage or on the very top. He is also quite the explorer. If given the chance he will climb off his cage and walk around. He loves hiding under other cages and playing hard to get.

Neither one is very loud at the rescue, but that could easily change in a quieter environment. For that reason they are not recommended for apartment living. If you would like to schedule a time to meet them please give us a call.


These two pionus are looking for a special home that will take them both together. They are not very loud and they are very cute. They like to watch people to see what they are doing. They both have special personalities that will warm any ones heart. They are not hand tame and will need some love and care. For more information on these two loving birds please contact us.
