Our Mission
As our capabilities and capacity to help pets ebbs and flows through the years our commitment to transparent trustworthy adoptions remains steady. Over ten years there have been so many changes and challenges. At times we have saved pets that had such severe behavioral issues no one else would take them with a 98% success rate for adoption. We have saved animals and immediately invested $10000 to save their lives. We have saved adorable puppies scheduled for euthanasia and suffering from parvo. The highs are unforgettable. Post pandemic adoptions slowed as did fundraiser events and our capacity to take in difficult cases was limited. Currently our founder continues to aide our local community members to safely rehome pets in needs. We may save from the south again in the future. But right now our focus is education and aide as we are able to. Each pet may have unique conditions, inclusions and exclusions to past or future adoption packages. Individual agreements are made in person before the pet leaves for trial.
Adoption Policy
Our adoption process is so simple! We do a meet and if you initially like the pet we take the adoption fee to hold. Fees range from Waived - $950. Please be sure to confirm the exact listing price for each individual pet you are interested in as they will vary. A portion of that fee $250 is the 'trial fee' which is nonrefundable. But, it does transfer to other pets if trial is unsuccessful and you'd like to try another. During home trial you will live with your pet and get to know them in the real world for a true window into what life with them will be like. If it's a perfect fit then we finalize!! If not we refund the remaining adoption fee balance when you return your pet (within the designated trial period).
Your fee typically includes alter surgery, microchip with lifetime registration, and up to date Distemper, and Rabies vaccinations, and Deworming. This also covers the transport from the Mid South, South, Puerto Rico, or any shelter or location to our facility, associated pull fees, as well as any care we provided from intake till adoption! Most of our dogs arrive in need of care for minor but serious ailments requiring prescription treatments. Some require quite extensive care. Everything provided during each pets stay with FYR is included in their adoption fee! We provide a lifetime of support and consider each adopter Furever Family.
Please note out of state/ long distance adoptions require a 50% trial fee. In the case of multiple applicants for the same pet, or to pick from litters, first deposit down from qualified approved applicant gets first trial/pick.
