Skippy's Story
Meet Skippy<br/>Skippy lives with one family his whole life. Now at 14 due to a change of living circumstance Skippy finds himself in need of a new start with a new family. He is a lovely companion who deserves to be someone’s special baby for his remaining years. Which is predicted be several in his current state. Seemingly healthy, up to date on vaccines, seen at vet in June. Other then some moles and little fatty lumps Skippy is in excellent condition for his age. He will need grooming every six weeks to stay short and sleek or can grow out to an awesome fluffy coat with the right maintenance in brushing!. He was reported housebroken but has had some accidents getting acclimated and seems like he’d need a lot of supervision to achieve that title again. He doesn’t mind wearing a belly band which makes a big difference! He is more receptive to positive training. He’s a sweet gentle loyal little man. When I tell you he is a cuddler he is the perfect chill couch buddy. He will collect his toys and pile them up and chases them and tosses them to himself even. He’s playful for a few minutes then back to cuddling. He is literally amazing and is great with other small dogs and cats. He will make the perfect addition to a family especially if someone is retired or works from home and can keep him nearby all day at home and on outings which he loves!! Admittedly he was a little snappy over certain things when he came in October but now after months of bonding and learning the routine he is attached to his foster mom and has not had any incidents in several months! Once he knows you he has respect for you. He just doesn’t like being guided or food taken from a stranger. He is def won over with gentle consistent handling to be a delightful friend. He’d be fine with the right kids who are calmer and understand boundaries. He is currently part of our pet and stretch and has visited with nearly 100 students and adults. And he lives every minute! He is great in the car and on leash! He enjoys being out and about. Mostly quiet occasional barks at sights and sounds. So please let me know why you’d be the perfect final stop and permanent family for Skippy!
