Our Mission
Polk County Humane Society ensures a lifetime of safety, love and companionship for lost, abandoned and unwanted pets by:
• Providing shelter and care in a safe, no-kill environment for pets awaiting a second chance, and
• Adopting those pets to responsible, loving and committed homes.
Polk County Humane Society works to reduce the overpopulation, loss, abandonment and surrender of pets by:
• Promoting spay and neuter of all pets in the community, and
• Educating on responsible and successful pet ownership.
Adoption Policy
Polk County Humane Society utilized an online adoption process. Our online adoption application, agreement and payment link are available on our website at: https://www.polkcountyhumanesociety.org/adopt. We are open every day by appointment and schedule most appointments between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. to allow for cleaning of the facility in the mornings and evenings.
