Hi, I'm Cheerio! I came from a really hard place—one of nearly 30 dogs rescued from an abusive and neglectful situation. I was tied to a heavy chain with very little food, and when I arrived here I weighed barely 30 lbs and had sores from sitting in the same spot for too long. I'm a bit picky about other dogs but the shelter recommends multiple meetings with another dog to safely introduce us. <br/><br/>Even with everything I've been through, I'm a good boy with so much potential. I've been working with a trainer and I respond really well to training. I'm not a big fan of new people at first, but give me a little time (and some treats!) and I'll be your loyal best friend—I would never turn on my person. I'm protective of the people I love, but deep down I'm a big softy who enjoys kisses, tug-of-war, and going on adventures. I've never known what it's like to have a real home, and I've been waiting here for over a year and a half. I know my perfect match may take time, but I'm worth it—and I'm ready for someone who's willing to give me the life I've always deserved.<br/><br/>Interested in adding me to your family?
