Buckeye

Hi, I'm Buckeye! I'm a 31⁄2-year-old Australian Cattle Dog mix, and at around 40 lbs, I'm the perfect size for just about anything. I can be a little shy when I first meet new people, but the nice folks here are helping me learn that new friends can be pretty great. Honestly, it doesn't take me long to warm up—especially if you have treats!

Once I get to know you, I'm all in. I'll stick to you like glue and happily accept hugs, kisses, and any opportunity to be close to my people. I'm an active guy (it's the Cattle Dog in me!) and I love to play, but I also know how to settle down and enjoy some quality cuddle time. I do well with other dogs too, as long as we're introduced slowly and properly.

I'm a sweet, loyal boy looking for a patient, loving home where I can feel safe and adored. If you're looking for a best friend who's equal parts playful and cuddly, I might just be your guy!

Interested in adding me to your family? Complete an adoption application at www.polkcountyhumanesociety.org/adopt. You can also schedule an appointment to meet me. Some pets are in foster homes or may already have meet-and-greets scheduled, so appointments help ensure I'll be available when you arrive.

Polk County Humane Society is located in Bolivar, Missouri, but we happily consider adopters from across the United States. If you're not local, you're welcome to travel here to adopt or arrange transportation. All transportation arrangements and expenses are the responsibility of the adopter. Virtual meet-and-greets are available.
