Ellie's Legacy Animal Foundation
Our Mission
Ellie’s Legacy Animal Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, volunteer-run, foster-based dog rescue organization based out of Southern Maine. Our ability to help dogs and to continue as an organization relies totally on the generosity of public donations. We are passionate about pet adoption and place our rescued animals in responsible, loving, forever adoptive homes. We often take on some of the more complicated medical and surgical cases (sick and injured dogs….our first 2 rescue dogs had a broken leg and a broken back) in the hopes of turning the lives of these very deserving dogs around. Our current area of focus for rescue is, but not exclusively limited to, Texas, especially south Texas. We are dedicated to education of the general public about the plight of the unwanted, neglected, abused, and homeless dogs of the United States, and we are devoted proponents of pet population control through spaying and neutering.
Adoption Policy
We require an adoption application to be filled out, 3 personal references, and a vet reference. If the application is approved, we schedule a home visit (virtual currently)
