Our Mission
Community Animal Rescue Effort (C.A.R.E.™) is a volunteer-driven, nonprofit organization with a mission to serve the communities of Chicago's North Shore by fostering and supporting healthy, positive relationships between people and companion animals. C.A.R.E. rehomes companion pets into safe, healthy, lifelong homes; serves as an educational and counseling resource; and works to reduce pet overpopulation.
Adoption Policy
To start the process of meeting our adoptable pets, please fill out an online questionnaire by using the Adoption Application link:

All adoptions and visits are by appointment only except the 2nd, 3rd, 4th Saturday of the month. If you see a cat or dog on our website that you are interested in, please fill out our cat adoption survey or dog adoption survey and a C.A.R.E. adoption counselor will contact you to answer any of your questions and to set up a meet and greet with the pet.
