Our Mission

Purrfect Haven Cat Rescue is a private not-for-profit 501(3)c no-kill charitable organization created in 2005 to help prevent the abuse of companion animals through EDUCATION, ADOPTION, MEDICAL and SOCIAL REHABILITATION, and SPAY AND NEUTER PROGRAMS. We are devoted to rehabilitating and placing abandoned and homeless cats and kittens through our relationships with private veterinary hospitals and network of foster homes.

Adoption Policy

What make Purr-Fect Haven Cat Rescue different? We are a small, volunteer-run, foster-based private rescue. All of our cats have been fostered in private homes and will never go up for adoption straight off the street. We know their personalities and preferences, likes and dislikes, and any special needs they may have. This information helps us to ensure that each cat is matched with the perfect family during the adoption process. All Purrfect Haven cats undergo extremely thorough medical evaluations and testing before being placed for adoption. Our team works hard to ensure our cats are as healthy as possible before placing them up for public adoption. ADOPTING A PURR-FECT HAVEN CAT HELPS US HELP ANOTHER ONE IN NEED! Our adoption package includes: spay/neuter current Rabies & Distemper vaccines microchipping FeLV/FIV test fecal & Giardia Elisa test parasite control You will also receive a gift kit filled with goodies such as a free starter of premium cat food, bag of cat toys, a feather flyer, catnip sample, and more! We also give you all the information you will need to help introduce your new pet into your family and home and will provide you with behavioral help for the life of the pet should any difficulties arise in the future. Some of our cats live in an adoption center at the Dover, Del. PetSmart, while others are in foster homes. We can set up meetings with individual cats following approval of an adoption application. Our adoption application and full list of adoption policies can be found here: https://www.purrfecthavencatrescue.org/adoption-form We do require a veterinary reference for all applicants (we will accept one from a family member if this is your first pet) and typically require kittens be adopted in pairs or to homes where they'll have the companionship of another friendly young cat, as kittens benefit greatly in terms of their health and socialization from having a feline friend.
