Our Mission

Founded in 1986, SCFOA is an animal rescue organization serving Solano County, California. As a foster-based, volunteer driven, and donation-supported organization, we’ve rescued over 12,000 animals since our inception. From the young to the old, the injured, abandoned, misunderstood, and even those considered “ugly,” we believe every animal deserves a second chance. Whether big, small, or three-legged, we are dedicated to finding forever homes for all homeless pets fostered in our rescue.

Adoption Policy

Potential adopters must fill out an adoption application and will be vetted by our Adoption Coordinators during the meet and greet with the animal and potentially also over the phone. Home visits will be scheduled as necessary. An adoption fee will apply. All of our animals are healthy at adoption and come spay/neutered, vaccinated with rabies and fvrcp vaccines, felv/fiv tested, microchipped, and treated for worms and fleas. We offer a foster-to-adopt option. After adoption, if the animal is returned within 30 days, the adoption fee will be refunded. If after 30 days, we retain the adoption fee but we ALWAYS accept returned animals.
