Our Mission

We work hard to reunite lost pets with their families as quickly and safely as possible, ensuring beloved companions find their way back home. For animals who do not have an owner waiting for them, we are equally committed to giving them a fresh start by finding them loving, responsible, and permanent homes right here in Medicine Hat. Our goal is to support both the animals and the community by creating more happy reunions and more forever families.

Adoption Policy

ADOPTION POLICIES At our shelter, our goal is to create safe, happy, and lifelong matches between animals and the families who love them. To ensure every pet goes to a responsible and suitable home, we follow the adoption policies outlined below. WHO CAN ADOPT • Be 18 years of age or older • Present a valid government-issued photo ID • Demonstrate the ability to provide long-term, stable care • Have the knowledge and commitment required for the animal you are adopting • Live in a home where pets are allowed (landlord approval if renting) HOUSEHOLD REQUIREMENTS • Meet-and-greet with resident pets may be required (Dog specific) • Ensure all household members are aware of and comfortable with the adoption • Home visits may be required for animals with special considerations ANIMAL-SPECIFIC NEEDS Some animals may require: • No small children • No other animals in the home • Experienced-handler homes only • Indoor-only placements for cats • Secure fencing for certain dogs
