I am 13 years old and weigh 20 pounds. I need a new home because my owner had to move without me. I am being fostered in Lawrence, KS.<br/><br/>I am blind and deaf, but healthy. My hearing and blindness makes navigating a little tricky at first with new surroundings, but also I've learned to be pretty adaptable to new environments without complaint- I love to explore! I'm also ok with being picked up and moved if needed (like onto my favorite spot on the couch). Despite my disabilities, I'm moving great, and can handle some stairs if I take them slow.<br/><br/>I'm a sweet, quiet old lady who is enjoying my time these days exploring new smells and situations.<br/>.<br/>I absolutely love to cuddle under blankets on the couch close to people.<br/> <br/>I have no problem with my foster dog friends, though I'm not up for rough house playing anymore. <br/><br/>I love outside time where I can explore<br/>I get along with my other boston friend & all people<br/>I would rather not go out in the rain without a buddy to guide me.<br/>I need a loving household that will let me work at my own slow pace.<br/> <br/>Here's a little more about me:<br/>Housetrained? Yes<br/>Leash-trained? I do great on a leash, but I work on my own pace and love meandering to smell the flowers and smells along the way. <br/>Rides well in car? yes<br/>Good with other dogs? yes, though I'm a low energy dog<br/>Good with cats? not yet tested<br/>Good with young children? yes, but only if they're there for gentle touches.<br/>Good with strangers? yes. Other medical needs diagnosed while in foster care are also treated prior to adoption.<br/><br/>MABTR requires a fenced in area from families who own their home, however we DO adopt to apartment complexes and communities where fences are not permitted due to leases and covenants. In these cases a leash law must be enforced. MidAmerica Boston Terrier Rescue's Adoption Policy
There is no fee for submitting an application with us. We are not affiliated with any other organization so we do require our application to be submitted in order to be considered. We prefer applications be completed online, We DO adopt to families with fenced in yards or those that live in apartments/condos. MABTR offers a two-week trial period with each adoption to ensure your new dog is a good fit. You only need to complete one application per household, not per dog of interest. MABTR will do our best to help transport any adopted dog within the 13 states we serve. We do not adopt outside of our service area, no exceptions. It may take us up to four days to process your application as we review applications twice a week.
