I’m Zoey<br/>I’m approx 4 year old, spayed Giant Schnauzer (around 40 lbs) with a gentle heart and a story that’s made me a little shy at first. I spent a few months out on my own before I was rescued, and I’ve worked really hard since then including going through heartworm treatment so I can be healthy and ready for my forever home.<br/>Because of my past, I can be a little nervous when I first meet new people or find myself in new places. If I feel unsure, I might quietly retreat until I know I’m safe. But once I trust you... oh, I really love you. I’m calm, affectionate, and happiest just being near my people.<br/>I don’t have a mean bone in my body and I do great with kids. I truly just want to feel safe and loved.<br/>When I first settled into a home, I had a little bit of anxiety and tried to cope by chewing or digging, but once I realized I was safe and cared for, that all faded away. I just need a little patience and reassurance in the beginning and I promise I’m so worth it.<br/>One thing about me? I LOVE being part of a pack. Having other dogs around helps me feel confident and happy, and I’ve really thrived in that kind of environment. I also love to stretch my legs and run, so a fenced yard would be a dream for me.<br/>If you’re someone who understands that the best dogs sometimes just need a little time to bloom...
