They’re currently in a foster home with dogs, cats and children and have fit right in. They even love curling up in bed with their foster family at night!

Zoey is about 1 year old and weighs only around 15 pounds, she appears to be full grown. Zach is the little boy of the group. He’s approximately 10 months old and may still have a little growing to do.

Their story is heartbreaking. We received a call about approximately 10 dogs that had apparently been dumped in the middle of nowhere. By the time help arrived, only these three remained. Sadly, the others had reportedly been hit by cars or attacked by animals.

One of our team members immediately drove more than an hour to get Zella, Zoey and Zach to safety and bring them into our rescue.

Judging by how comfortable and affectionate they are with people; we believe they were pets at some point. We don’t know where they came from or how they ended up abandoned, but we do know they’ll never have to fend for themselves again.

These little survivors have been through enough. Now they deserve safe, loving homes of their own where they can spend the rest of their lives being loved and spoiled.

If you love small-breed dogs and think Zoey or Zach could be the perfect addition to your family, please submit an adoption application. We’d love to talk to you about them!

Here's the adoption application, please copy & paste.

https://forms.gle/FmtRtYxQNnemdkdw9

**To see all of our pets available for adoption, please copy this link.

https://www.petfinder.com/search/pets-for-adoption/?shelter_id%5B0%5D=AL450&sort%5B0%5D=recently_added

Paws of Dixie Animal Rescue adopts in the New England area.
