My oh my it’s a wonderful day, plenty of sunshine coming your way! That’s right! All this is paw-sible with Zipp, a highly energetic 2-year old, 45-pound American Bulldog mix being cared for by our friends at the Manchester Animal Shelter in Manchester, NH.

After the strain of being transported from a high kill southern shelter in October, 2020, Zipp has yet to find the right home to help her work through fear and anxiety. What’s more, her stress has accumulated after two failed adoptions. (The people were not doggy experienced enough.) Won’t you be her “three times a charm” rescue hero?

If you like feelings of reward and satisfaction from seeing a project dog transform, then Zipp is your girl! She requires a very UNDERSTANDING and PATIENT foster or adopter who can supervise her, exercise her, and challenge her mentally. Zipp is a special needs puppy because her response to anxiety is different from most dogs. She responds by destroying things.

Zipp already has a behavior modification plan and recently started fluoxetine. However, it is hard to implement the plan and gauge effectiveness of meds in a kennel environment. She needs a real home with a foster or adopter who can work with her. So, unless you want new furniture or a home makeover, you’ll need to work with a vet to monitor medication and a trainer who is familiar with destructive behavior. Fortunately she is a young dog with plenty of potential.

Our friends at MAS believe in a bright future for Zipp because they already see she is a great dog. With the right environment and training, everyone agrees she will be amazing! Considering her challenges, she needs a home with no kids and no other pets. Though she’d benefit from a doggy role model, only a very experienced dog handler with a well-balance canine would work.

Please contact Manchester Animal Shelter: canines@manchesteranimalshelter.org or 603.628.3544. Please tell them ARK sent you! #ARKforZipp #JustSaveThem
