Zilla Beagle Rockville, MD

Zilla is a snuggly, smart, energetic, fun-loving 1.5 year old dog. She's a 40 lb suspected black lab/beagle mix.

Even though she is fully grown, she still has long, floppy ears that make her look like a perpetual puppy. She gets along well with other dogs both in the home and elsewhere, and she enjoys running and rough play with her doggie pals. She loves to work for treats and responds well to positive training. She knows how to sit, come, and wait. She is making steady progress with loose-leash training.

She can be nervous around new people, but she warms up quickly to most people.

Zilla needs a patient human who can help her build up confidence. We believe Zilla would do best in a home with another dog, but she might also be happy as an only-dog. The home should be cat-free and free of other small animals as she does have a high prey drive. Zilla will do well with older children, but her play can be too energetic for younger children who don't know how to set boundaries with a dog. She seems comfortable with most women but is choosy about men, as she trusts some men but not others.
