ZARA's Story
This is Zara. She is a beautiful girl, with a shiny black coat, gorgeous amber eyes and the cutest little snaggletooth! She's super affectionate and snuggly, and loves everyone she meets.

Zara is enthusiastic about almost anything. She loves going on walks, and she walks well on leash, ignoring other dogs, though she does get excited by squirrels. She has some buddies that she enjoys playing with from time to time. She's potty trained and crate trained, and happily sleeps on a dog bed. Zara rides well in the car and would love to accompany you on your daily errands or whatever adventure you have planned.

She was a star in her manners training classes, she is motivated by treats and affection and is definitely ready to learn more. She knows "sit" and is great at "wait", especially for her food bowl, she waits for "OK" to eat. She can be left home alone with only the occasional bark, and isn't destructive. Zara generally has a fun, puppy energy, which she's learning to channel in her foster home. She gets excited when her people come home, and can get a little jumpy or mouthy, but this has decreased with redirection and settling into a routine. We think once she's settled into her forever home, with some consistency, this could be stopped completely.

She will be the PERFECT dog for a home with older kids, a single person or an adult only home. She seeks out affection and likes to be held and get belly rubs. She has a medium energy level and needs a moderate amount of exercise, a couple of walks a day or some play time or training. She has lived in a foster home with other dogs, but she can be possessive around dogs in the home, so she would do best as an only dog, unless the owners are particularly experienced.

This wonderful pup is looking for her forever home. If she sounds like a match for you, apply today to meet her!
