He may take time to warm up in new spaces, often seeking comfort under furniture until he feels secure. Once he trusts you, he enjoys pets, quiet companionship, and will happily stay by your side.

He’s sensitive to loud voices or sudden movements — a calm, gentle approach helps him feel relaxed and loved.

Social Behavior
• With Adults: Occasionally shy at first, especially in new spaces, but approaches calmly for pets and affection when offered treats. Startles at loud voices but thrives in calm, patient company.
• With Children: Best with quiet, respectful kids; frightened by loud or fast movements.
• With Dogs: Very social with dogs of all sizes — coexists peacefully and enjoys quiet companionship.
• With Cats: Neutral; shows no reaction when encountering cats on walks.

Home Life
• Alone Time: Comfortable being home alone (up to 9 hours on weekdays). No barking or separation anxiety observed.
• Potty Training: 60% indoor pads / 40% outdoor for urine; 90% outdoor for bowel movements.
• Crate: Uses his kennel voluntarily for rest and comfort.
• Barking: Rare — described as very quiet by his foster.
• Sleep: Naps on a cushion or sofa during the day; sleeps soundly through the night.

Walks & Care
• Walks: Twice daily (morning 15 min, evening 30 min). Walks calmly but prefers quieter routes.
• Car Rides: Travels very well; relaxes on a soft blanket in the seat.
• Bathing: Nervous about water but remains still when gently handled.
• Play: Not toy-motivated; prefers calm affection over rough play. Startles easily if play becomes too loud or energetic.

Ideal Home

Yuto would thrive in a quiet, loving home that can give him patience and reassurance. He’s not a dog for loud households or high-energy children — instead, he’s a perfect fit for someone who values gentle companionship and wants to give a shy soul a safe, peaceful life.

Best Fit:
• Calm, stable household with adults or older kids
• Adopters who speak softly and move slowly to build trust
• A home offering daily walks, affection, and time to settle at his pace

Not Ideal For:
• Loud or chaotic homes

Why Yuto?

Yuto is a small, tender-hearted survivor who has been through change but still believes in love. With patience, he blossoms into a sweet, loyal companion who asks for very little — just calm voices, gentle hands, and a quiet space to call his own.

Breed Note

Our breed descriptions are best guesses based on appearance and shelter records.
DNA tests often reveal that our rescue dogs are mixes of five or more breeds — each one uniquely special in their own way.
