They were taken to a high-kill shelter and were facing euthanasia when they were miraculously rescued just in time. Yumi has come a long way since then—she successfully beat heartworm disease alongside her brother, completing her treatment in May 2026, and is now perfectly healthy and looking for her forever family!<br/><br/>Yumi is a petite, gorgeous Black & Tan Shiba Inu who steals the heart of everyone she meets with her incredibly gentle and polite nature.<br/><br/> Personality & Behavior:<br/><br/>So Sweet & Obedient: Yumi is an absolute angel. When it's treat time, she will patiently sit and wait for her reward. She is incredibly smart and eager to please—even on walks, if she picks up something she shouldn't, she will immediately spit it out the moment you say "No."<br/><br/>Cat Friendly: Yumi has spent time in a foster home with cats! She is very respectful and has even done gentle nose-boops ("nose kisses") with her feline friends. She can easily live in a home with cats.<br/><br/>Dog Friendly: Just like her brother, she gets along well with other dogs, preferring polite companions over overly hyper or aggressive ones.<br/><br/>People & Kids: She is extremely mild-mannered, quiet, and has absolutely no aggression. She loves people and is great with kids and strangers alike.<br/><br/>Leash Skills & Potty Habits: Yumi is fully house-trained for outdoor potty. She enjoys her walks, behaves beautifully on the leash, and uses that time to do her business.<br/><br/>Yumi is a resilient, well-behaved, and incredibly loving girl who is more than ready to bring joy to a lucky family.
