Yuki's Story

Meet Yuki, a three year old Husky/Pit mix.

Yuki is proof that sometimes the right home is worth waiting for.

This sweet girl has found herself back with us for the third time, through absolutely no fault of her own. Yuki was originally adopted as a puppy and later came into the shelter as a stray. Despite our efforts, we were unable to reconnect her with her family. She was then adopted again, but unfortunately returned when the resident dog in the home began bullying her. Throughout it all, Yuki was nothing but kind and respectful with the other dog.

Despite these setbacks, Yuki remains one of the sweetest dogs you'll ever meet. She has met multiple dogs during her time with us and has consistently done well. However, after being bullied by the other dog she may prefer a home with a lowkey dog or where she is the only dog. She has great manners and walks well on leash. Her medium size makes her a great fit for many different types of homes and lifestyles.

One thing people often notice about Yuki is the adorable gray on her muzzle. Don't let it fool you—she's much younger than she looks! She simply has a touch of premature frosting that gives her a distinguished appearance and makes her even more charming.

Yuki is affectionate, gentle, and ready for a family that will finally be her forever family. She has handled every change in her life with grace and continues to greet the world with a wagging tail and a loving heart. She does need a home without cats as she does enjoy chasing them if the mood arises.

If you're looking for a loyal companion with a sweet personality, good manners, and plenty of love to give, Yuki is ready to meet you. She deserves a home that will be her last stop—and we think her perfect match is out there waiting.

This pet is available for adoption on 6.19.26 at the Yakima Humane Society adoption center. If you recognize this animal please contact the adoption center at 509-457-6854.

Did you know YHS lets local community members FOSTER TO ADOPT?? That's where you and the pet make sure you're a good fit for one another by having a fun sleepover prior to finalizing your adoption. It's a win-win for everyone! Just ask our front desk staff about how it works.

Interested in adopting this or another YHS pet? Please complete our adoption questionnaire found at: https://yakimahumane.org/adopt/apply/

Our adoption fee includes a lovable companion, spay/neuter, vaccinations and intestinal worming, flea/tick treatment, rabies vaccine (for pets over 3-4 months of age) and a microchip with nationwide registration. Your adoption fee helps support YHS and our spay/neuter efforts in the community to end overpopulation of cats and dogs.

If you have any questions, please e-mail us at adoption@yakimahumane.org.
