Xena

Xena is just a little over a year old and is a smart, sweet girl who is discovering how wonderful life inside a home can be! We suspect she came from a backyard breeding situation where she and six other dogs were kept primarily outside. Despite her rough start, Xena has blossomed with love, patience, and a little structure.<br/><br/>She absolutely loves cuddles and affection and will happily curl up beside you on the couch. She is very smart, responds to her name and “Xena, come,” and is making great progress with house training. She is also a wonderful leash walker and is becoming much more comfortable around people and children.<br/><br/>Xena gets along well with other dogs and has zero aggression. She still has some young-dog “wild child” moments and is working on nighttime barking, crate time, and feeling comfortable around cars and loud noises. But she is improving every day!<br/><br/>With patience, positive training, and a loving family, we believe Xena will grow into the wonderful, mellow family companion she is meant to be. She doesn't need perfection—she just needs someone willing to give her time to learn and show her how good life can be. <br/><br/>Xena is ready for her forever home—and plenty of cuddles!
