Madly in love, obviously.

Xena was picked up as a stray by St. Paul Animal Control and somehow, no one came to claim her. She got passed over again and again, even returned after an overnight stay (not her fault, she just brings BIG energy). With no takers, her time was almost up — but her sheer joy for life got to them. One last hail Mary plea landed her with New Leash, and we couldn’t look away from this pint-sized chaos queen.

In her foster home, Xena is:
?? Energetic
?? Playful
?? Crate trained
?? Great with other dogs (especially those who like to play rough)
?? An absolute public angel (yes, she walks like a pro on leash!)
?? Manners? In public: impressive. At home: well… she’s working on it. ?

Now for the real talk:
Xena is a party with legs, and left to her own devices, she will throw it. She needs a home that gets her energy and is ready to put in some consistent training and structure. She’s working on not jumping, play biting, scratching, and turning your living room into a Wacky Wobbler Wrestling Arena™.

She responds best to positive reinforcement, not drill-sergeant vibes, and absolutely thrives when kept busy, mentally and physically. Her forever family should be committed to helping her stay social, stay engaged, and stay out of the garbage.

? Medical Status:
?? Spayed
?? UTD on vax
?? Fecal tested & dewormed
?? Heartworm tested & on preventatives
?? Microchipped
?? Had cherry eye surgery and is now rocking that perfect “Who, me?” stare

---

Xena is not for the faint of heart — but for the brave of soul.
If you’re looking for a sweet-natured, high-energy, cuddle-loving goofball who will absolutely wreck your outfit and steal your heart... come meet the Xennado. You’ve been warned. ??

? Contact: tschlax@gmail.com

? Adoption Fee: $250.00 (no checks)

Our fosters do the best they can to provide all information about the animal's background and temperament while in foster care in their home. An adopters routine and home environment are likely going to be different than that in their foster home.

Sometimes there is more that comes out about a dog's personality once they have been able to settle in a home and truly become comfortable. There are great articles out there written about the different stages a pet goes through after adoption, discussing transitions that happen at 3 days, 3 weeks, and 3 months. We highly recommend reading about this - it will help you understand the transition your new pet goes through.
