Wyatt (JY26-90)'s Story
Meet Wyatt - A Loyal Little Shadow Looking for His Person

Wyatt is a 9-year-old Mini Australian Shepherd weighing 34.1 pounds who is looking for a patient, understanding home where he can feel safe and build a strong bond with his person.

Once Wyatt decides you're his person, he is extremely loyal and loves being part of your everyday life. He is still skittish in new situations and environments, so he looks to his trusted people for guidance and reassurance. Giving him the time and support he needs to adjust will be an important part of helping Wyatt feel secure in his new home.

One of Wyatt's favorite activities is going for walks! He is great on leash and really enjoys getting out and exploring with his person. He is also pretty much potty trained and has settled into a nice routine in his foster home. At bedtime, Wyatt sleeps peacefully all night in his own bed right next to his foster's bed.

Wyatt does great living with other animals. He is good with dogs, cats, chickens, and even ducks! While he gets along well with other dogs, he isn't interested in playing with them and isn't afraid to let another dog know when he would prefer to be left alone. He's much more interested in companionship than wrestling or roughhousing.

Wyatt does not do well in a crate and can become so stressed that he makes himself sick. The good news is that he does completely fine when left home uncrated with his foster's resident dogs.

Because Wyatt can be a flight risk, he will go home with a tracker. His future family will need to be especially careful with doors, gates, leashes, and outdoor time. Wyatt should never be left unattended in a fenced yard, as he has been known to dig underneath fencing in an attempt to get out.

Wyatt may need some extra patience while adjusting to new people, places, and situations, but once he feels safe and chooses his person, his loyalty is hard to beat. He's looking for someone who will give him guidance when the world feels a little scary, take him on plenty of walks, and give him the security he needs to truly settle in.

Could you be the person Wyatt has been waiting for?
