Wrigley's Story
Meet our big boy Wrigley!

Wrigley was left behind at a shelter when his owners moved and chose not to take him, even though they said he was a really great dog. Their loss is truly someone else’s gain, because we scooped him up right away—and we are so glad we did!

Wrigley is 10 years old and currently weighs in at 130 pounds (yes, you read that right!). His number one goal right now is to slim down, and he’ll need a committed family to help him get there with a healthy diet and gradually increasing exercise. It won’t happen overnight, but we know he can do it—he’s a classic Golden who just wants to please his people.

As he sheds the extra weight and his coat grows back in from being shaved, we know this handsome boy is going to absolutely shine. But even now, his sweet and gentle spirit is what truly stands out.

If you’re looking to give a loving, deserving dog the very best years of his life, Wrigley just might be your perfect match. ❤️

Our handsome senior gentleman is settling beautifully into his foster home and clearly loving the good life. He’s a classic velcro golden—happiest right by your side, soaking up head pats and belly rubs.

He’s already making great progress on his weight-loss journey. With thyroid medication now on board, a structured diet, and short walks to build his stamina, he’s on the right track. As the pounds come off, we expect him to feel dramatically better and start moving with much more էնergy and pep than when he first arrived in rescue.

5-16-26: Update on our boy Wrigley...

He is losing weight big time and is now down to 121 pounds and counting! The thyroid medication, proper diet, and exercise provided by his foster mom are doing the trick. His stamina improves more each day and he is feeling so much better.

Now all he needs is his forever home — one committed to continuing his healthy lifestyle, playing fetch, and loving this wonderful pup.

GRCGLARescue adopts within the counties of Los Angeles, Ventura, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino and San Diego. Because we do require pre-adoption screening and post-adoption follow-up, we cannot support adoptions outside of this service area.

If you have a current application on file and would like to inquire about this dog, please email adoptions@grcglarescue.org. Otherwise, please make sure to complete the online adopter application found at http://www.grcglarescue.org/adopt before sending your inquiry.
