Woody's Story

***Woody is currently located at our rescue in Georgia but is also available for adoption in the New Jersey area. An application for Woody can be submitted at socorescue.com (no need to register or login). Questions about Woody and/or our adoption policy should be sent to socorescue8@gmail.com; please do not call the Rescue's number.***

Woody and his brother, Buzz, were found as strays in the Dublin, GA area in Sept of 2025. After going through their "stray hold" period and not being reclaimed by their owner, the two were brought to SoCo Rescue in hopes of finding them new homes. Both boys were very thin, scared and found to also be heartworm positive. Since coming to SoCo Rescue, both Woody and Buzz have regained their health and have recently completed their treatment for heartworms.

Woody is a peculiar little fellow, often wanting to be a little aloof towards other dogs while also enjoying their company at the same time. He has a slight dominate personality towards Buzz, yet eagerly waits on him when it's playtime. Woody will make a great companion for a retired/senior person who is still very active as he enjoys going on walks and car rides. He also enjoys his time outdoors, so a home with ample room to play and investigate all the sites and smells would be best. We would think that Woody would be best in a home without small children.

Woody has received an update on all of his annual vaccinations, de-wormings and kept up to date on all of his monthly preventatives. He's also been neutered and has received a clean bill of health from our veterinarian. Woody will need additional house training once in a new home.
