Woody's Story

Woody is a 5-year-old terrier mix with a BIG personality and an even bigger love for tennis balls! This guy is absolutely nuts for a ball—seriously, he could play fetch for hours and never get tired. If you’ve got an arm for throwing, Woody’s your perfect match. 💪
He’s neutered, heartworm negative, and up to date on all his vaccines—ready to head straight into his forever home!
Woody has been working hard on his manners and is making progress with commands like “drop it” and “leave it.” He just needs someone willing to keep him engaged.
When it comes to other dogs, Woody can be a bit selective. He likes some, not all—and he’s not afraid to show off his macho side then he gets over himself and just wants to play.
Woody would do best in a home with older kids who can match his energy and are ready to spend lots of time playing fetch. If you’re looking for a fun, active, and entertaining companion, Woody is your guy!

Humane Society of Harrison County's Adoption Policy
An adoption application MUST be completed prior to an adoption. This document can be found on our web page www.hshc-paws.org at the bottom of the webpage under quick links. We will need time to process these applications, so if you are coming from out of town, please send them in ahead of your visit. Animals too young for spaying or neutering may NOT be adopted outside of Harrison County, and we can not respond to inquiries asking for exceptions. No pet that has not been altered will be adopted outside of our county due to Texas State law requiring all pets to be altered that come from a shelter or rescue. If they are to young we will adopt out locally so they can be brought back for surgery when they are old enough. Dog adoptions are $100 plus a $50.00 deposit for a spay/neuter surgery. Total adoption fee $150.00. Once the surgery is completed and we receive paperwork back from the veterinarian's office, we will refund you back your deposit. Cat adoptions are $65.00 plus a $35.00 deposit for a spay/neuter surgery. Total adoption fee $100.00. Once the surgery is completed and we receive paperwork back from the veterinarian's office, we will refund you back your deposit.
