Woody (26-030)'s Story
NEWLY AVAILABLE

Introducing Woody!

Playful Curious Goofy Easy Going

Personality: Woody is a big, goofy guy with a playful personality and a heart full of love. He is curious, easygoing, and very loyal to his people. Woody loves to have fun and makes it very clear that his goal in life is to enjoy every day to the fullest!

Socialness: Woody does well with adults and children. He has experience with children as young as 3 years old. He enjoys being around other dogs. He is playful with his canine friends and would do best in a home where he has another dog to play with. His experience with cats is unknown, so if there are any in his forever home, slow, structured introductions will be needed.

Likes:

Going for walks
Playing with stuffed toys
Cuddling with his people
Playing with dogs

Training: Woody is crate trained, housebroken, and non-destructive when left loose. He is currently working on his “sit” and “stay” commands. Like many curious Danes, Woody has discovered that countertops and garbage cans can be very interesting, so continued training and management will be needed to help him learn that those areas are off-limits.

Woody is generally housebroken, although he can have accidents if left alone for longer than 8–9 hours. Limiting his water intake before leaving can help. His adopters will also want to keep the bathroom door closed and the toilet lid down. Woody has figured out how to open the bathroom door and enjoys helping himself to toilet water!

Health: Woody is in good health overall, but does have an abscess on his tail that is healing.

Forever Home Wishlist:

A physical fence is recommended, but not required.
A midsize-to-large yard would be ideal so Woody has plenty of room to stretch his legs and play.
A home with another playful dog would be preferred, as Woody really enjoys having canine playmates.
An active family that will provide regular walks and opportunities for exercise and play.
Woody is not suited for an apartment setting.
He can be left alone for approximately 6–8 hours, although his family should be mindful of his potty needs if he will be alone toward the longer end of that range.
A family who doesn't mind having stuffed toys and blankets around. Woody considers them essential equipment for having fun!
Someone who appreciates a big, goofy Dane!

Fun Fact: Woody has a special talent for turning a simple blanket and a stuffed toy into the world's greatest entertainment. He'll shake them, carry them around, and generally make sure everyone knows that playtime is happening!

If you think Woody will be a great addition to your family, please reach out to us by following one of the options below.

1.
