WOODIE's Story

WOODIE - ID#A053957
Hi! My name is Woodie. I am a neutered male, tricolor German Shepherd Dog and Pug. The shelter staff think I am about 9 years old. I have been at the shelter since Sep 10, 2024.
I LOVE TO: Lounge on the couch, and go for long walks. I love to be around people.
I HAVE: I have lived with other dogs in a previous home. I have a sweet personality.
I GET ALONG WELL WITH: Calm family members of all ages. I get along with other dogs I have met at the shelter.
I WOULD RATHER NOT: Be left alone for long periods of time.
I AM: A sweet dog looking for a loving family! Plus I am super house trained!
For nearly two years, Woodie has patiently waited at our shelter for someone to see what we see every day: a sweet, loving dog who deserves a family of his own. Each day Woodie has watched countless dogs come and go. He's seen kennel mates leave with their new families and start the next chapter of their lives. Through it all, Woodie continues to greet each day with a wagging tail, a hopeful heart, and the same gentle spirit that has made him a favorite among our staff and volunteers.

The truth is, Woodie isn't asking for much. He has a heart as big as his smile. He may be a senior, but don't let that fool you. He still enjoys long walks, spending time in the yard, and being close to the people he loves. His favorite place, however, is right by your side. Whether he's relaxing on the couch or quietly lounging at your feet, Woodie is happiest simply being part of the family.
Woodie does take a few routine medications to help him stay healthy, but they are easy to manage. Woodie is an Angel Dog and thanks to the generosity of our supporters and the assistance of Pet Project Foundation, we are committed to helping cover the cost of his medications so that medical expenses won't stand in the way of his adoption.
What Woodie needs most isn't medicine. He needs someone to give him a chance.
Every day, our volunteers spend time walking him, playing with him, and reminding him that he is loved. But what Woodie truly deserves is a home; a place where he can be part of a family and enjoy all the simple comforts that every dog longs for.
After two years of waiting, we believe Woodie's person is out there somewhere. Perhaps it's someone who understands that the best companions aren't always the youngest or the easiest to overlook. Perhaps it's someone who believes that every dog deserves a second chance, no matter how long they've been waiting.

Could that person be you?
