Wolfie & Reese Bonded Pair's Story
Double the love with this bonded pair of boys!

Wolfie & Reese are a Bonded Pair. This listing is for both of them since they come as a bonded pair.

Wolfie:
His name should be Romeo because he is such a lover! He is an 11 pound miniature long-haired dachshund, with silky soft black and tan fur. He doesn’t shed much, if at all. He loves toys that squeak, sunning outdoors, going on walks, loves lap sitting and watching tv. Don’t be surprised if he peeks in the shower when you are in there, he loves the sprinkle of a little water. He is full of confidence and is very protective and loving of his brother, Reese. Small but mighty! He loves to have conversations with you, with his sweet little bark, when he wants attention or to inform you it is time for bed.

Health & Behavior (Wolfie): Good health. Has nervous tics that increase with anxiety. Uses doggie door consistently! Loves his brother Reese and is always on the lookout for him. He’s a great dog!

Reese:
Yes, he is the colors of a Reese’s peanut butter cup and is just as sweet! The quieter of the two boys, he looks to Wolfie for his queues for what to do next. He weighs about 18 pounds and is a standard smooth short haired dachshund. He doesn’t shed much, if at all. He loves being outdoors, sniffing around fresh cut lawn! He loves his brother Wolfie and cuddles with him on their bed at night. He recently found his voice (sounds a bit like a sea lion) and will bark when the UPS driver comes, the doorbell rings, or any disturbance outside the home. He stops when given the all clear!

Health & Behavior (Reese): Good health. The vet recommended not neutering Reese because one of his liver ALT levels was elevated. If required we can explain in more details when you reach out.

Custom Personality Trait: Funny little boy who loves people, dogs and treats. Loves to have “conversations”.

Crate trained, but rarely requires it. They are perfect house guests!
Uses doggie door regularly; loves the yard and sunshine (but not the rain)
Came to us with little house-training, but has made great progress with using the dog door and pee pads (Wolfie marks when stressed and will wear a belly-band)
Uses ramps to get on and off the sofa
Making progress on leash-walking with his brother on a tandem leash
Very affectionate and well behaved
Loves car rides
Great friend to other dogs and people
Not experienced with children

Adopting a bonded pair of dogs has several benefits:

1. **Companionship**: Bonded pairs provide each other with constant companionship, reducing feelings of loneliness and anxiety, especially when their humans are not home.

2. **Behavioral Stability**: Dogs in bonded pairs often exhibit better behavior as they keep each other entertained and engaged, reducing the likelihood of destructive behavior caused by boredom or separation anxiety.

3. **Easier Adjustment**: When adopted together, bonded pairs adjust more easily to a new environment because they have the comfort of a familiar companion, making the transition less stressful.

4. **Exercise and Play**: Bonded pairs tend to be more active and playful, encouraging each other to exercise more, which is beneficial for their physical health.

5. **Emotional Support**: The emotional bond between the dogs can provide them with a sense of security and well-being, improving their overall happiness and quality of life.

6. **Training Benefits**: Having two dogs can sometimes make training easier, as they can learn from each other and mimic good behavior.

7. **Saving Lives**: By adopting a bonded pair, you are giving two dogs a home and helping to reduce the number of animals in shelters.

Adopting a bonded pair can be a rewarding experience, bringing double the love and joy into your home.
