Meet Winter — A Soft, Sweet Shadow in the Making! <br/><br/>Winter is a gentle, soft-hearted sweetheart who absolutely adores people. He can be a little skittish when faced with new things, unfamiliar noises, or sudden movements, but give him a little time and reassurance and you’ll see his sweet personality shine. Once he feels safe with you, he’s happy to melt right into you. In fact, Winter would be perfectly content to spend his days following his favorite person around and then curling up beside them on the couch. Velcro boy status: pending, but highly likely. <br/><br/>Winter isn’t much of a barker—he’s quiet around both people and other dogs—but he may let out a little whine when he wants to be close to you. Translation: “Excuse me, but I believe we should be snuggling now.”<br/><br/> A Young Dog Still Learning the Ropes<br/><br/>Winter is still working on his puppy basics, including potty training, so his new family will need to be patient and consistent as he learns. The good news? He’s food-motivated, eager to bond, and very responsive to his people, which makes him a great candidate for positive-reinforcement training.<br/><br/>He’s also wonderfully easygoing when it comes to food—there are zero guarding tendencies, and you can touch him while he eats without bothering him. He loves toys and has plenty of playful puppy energy to share.<br/><br/> Dog-Friendly & Ready to Play<br/><br/>Winter loves other dogs and can get especially enthusiastic when playtime begins. He’s not dominant or reactive and doesn’t guard his food or toys; he’s simply a young dog who is still learning appropriate play and boundaries. A confident, friendly dog around his size or larger who enjoys a good game of chase and wrestle could be a wonderful match for him.<br/><br/> A Fresh Start<br/><br/>Winter is neutered and recently had cherry eye surgery. He’s healing well and ready to leave his recovery days behind and start working on the really important things—like finding his forever person and perfecting his couch-snuggling skills.<br/><br/> The Winter Experience<br/><br/>Winter is the kind of dog who blossoms when he has patience, routine, and someone willing to show him that the world is a safe place. He’s sweet, silly, affectionate, and eager to connect with his people. Obedience and training classes are an excellent way to learn more about your newly adopted dog, gain handling and training experience, and improve your relationship with your pet.
