Winston & Roxy's Story
Winston #1004 & Roxie #1005

Age: 7 & 5 years old

Color & Breed: Red & White and Tricolor Bassets

Gender: Neutered Male & Spayed Female

Weight: 49 & 50 pounds

Winston #1004 and Roxie #1005 are a bonded pair who feel very strongly about each other. They get along well with other dogs but prefer to spend time gazing longingly into each other’s saggy basset eyes.

Picture an old retired couple in your head. Then, open your eyes and look directly at Winston and Roxie, because they’re the hound version of that. These two prefer warm weather and going to leisurely, meandering walks. They enjoy sharing food from each other’s bowls. They’re not particularly energetic but should probably be lured outdoors from time to time (especially when dog accessories are being shown on QVC or when their stories are on.)

These two are housetrained and are comfortable using a doggy door or asking to go outside. They don’t need to be crated in their foster home but will sometimes go into a crate for an afternoon nap. They can do stairs and would likely be okay on a tie-out if their potential future home doesn’t have a fenced-in yard.

Apply for this cute couple at https://www.mnbassetrescue.com/adoption

MNBR adopts locally as much as possible so we can properly support our foster dogs and adopters if the need arises. We accept applications from within the following areas: all of Minnesota, Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wisconsin and other applicants within a 8 hour radius of our headquarters in St. Paul, MN.

Minnesota Basset Rescue (MNBR) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dog rescue based in Minnesota. MNBR rehomes dogs from owners who can no longer provide their care and rescues dogs from local pounds and shelters. As an all-volunteer, foster-based rescue we welcome anyone who loves dogs and wishes to help hounds live a healthy and happy life. Our organization provides safe, loving foster home, proper veterinary care, and daily necessities while working hard to find them a permanent, loving home!
