Are you that person? Lonely? Well, Winston is here to help you get over that. He's ready and willing to grace your home with himself.

He will also be your bodyguard, protecting you from strangers and things that go bump in the night. So, when a stranger comes to your door, proper introductions are needed. Once he knows they are a friend, then he'll be fine. But don t let that stop you from having the bestest friend you'll ever have.

Our must-haves for precious Winston include:
- A fenced yard
- Someone who is home all the time or retired
- Can be an only dog or with another adult-to-senior dog (small)
- No children; they would make him too nervous
- No cats

If you fulfill these requirements, then go to our website and fill out the online adoption application. Well be in touch in a jiffy, and dont forget to let your vet know well be calling for a reference.

============== Information for All Dogs/Adopters ==============

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshunds back or get bitten.

If you have questions about this dog, please feel free to contact the foster home at the email address listed on the bio form. They have the most up-to-date information concerning the dog and would be happy to answer any questions about the animal.

We cannot adopt into CT, RI, NH, ME, or MA due to strict laws regarding importation of dogs into those states. If you have any issue with this, you will need to take this up with your legislatures.

To understand the adoption process through AADR, please review the Adoption Information on our home page. Transportation options are outlined on that page in Step 3.

Click this link to apply: https://www.allamericandachshundrescue.org/apply, it will take you to the application form.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers who will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast or Midwest. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. Please look for dogs on your coast.
