Winnie's Story

Winnie is just out here enjoying this beautiful spring weather and posing for photos in hopes that her family will see her! Winnie is a Lab mix, who is about 8 months old and weighs 44 lbs. She is here in Maine, in foster, and doing well with the foster dogs in her home. She's also good with cats- she will chase them playfully but will not hurt them- and would be best in a home with older kids as she gets bursts of puppy exuberance and might knock over tinier kids. She is crate trained and potty trained when given ample opportunities to potty outside, so might do best with a family that can let her out a few times during the day- every 3-4 hours or so. She can be nervous at first when meeting new people, but warms up quickly so a family that will socialize her and take her on adventures so she grows confident and understands how fun the world can be. She's a little nervous on leash (will pancake when new people walk by) and will need a family that can work with her on becoming confident on leash. She is a sweet girl with a lot of love to give and would like you to share her post so she can find her family!

If you think you might be interested in adopting Winnie or just want to get pre-approved to adopt through us, please fill out an application on our website. Winnie is from Rescue Charlie's Friends

[Woolwich, ME]

Our Mission
Hi, I’m Charlie. This dog rescue organization is named after me. My sister and I were in cages, sleeping on a cold concrete floor and getting lousy food. It was crowded, dirty, very scary and they had to make room because more dogs were coming. If we hadn’t been rescued, things would not have ended well for us. Some...
