Winnie's Story

Meet Winnie!!

Winnie is a 2 year old Yorkie mix, about 11 lbs, and she is a total velcro dog. She follows her foster everywhere. Belly rubs, all-over rubs, and lap time are her favorite things.

Winnie came to us from BARC Animal Shelter in early September as a stray. She was scared, matted, and had ran and hid inside a house when she was picked up. A haircut and a few weeks in foster care later, she's a happy, affectionate girl.

She's great with people. She is friendly to everyone, including kids and has done great a family get-together! She loves car rides and hops into her little bed in the front seat every time. On walks she stays close and ignores the neighborhood cats. She's fast and curious, so an avid walker is her match.

Winnie loves fetch and is still learning that the toy goes back to the thrower. She is food-motivated and loves to chew!

She's still working on potty training. She uses the yard and puppy pads, and does best with a break every 60 to 90 minutes. Winnie was dog friendly at the shelter. She hasn't been around other dogs in foster yet, so we're still learning how she does with them.

Winnie barks when she's crated, but she settles down and looks relaxed when her person gets home. A tight cuddle outside settles her, and then it's potty time. She's still learning that alone time is okay.

Winnie is heartworm negative and freshly spayed! She'd do best with a family who's home a lot and will work on alone time with her. Winnie is your girl!!

Please visit https://www.caroscanines.com/adopt to fill out a FREE application to adopt and follow us on Instagram/Facebook to see more of Winnie.

Winnie's adoption fee is $400. She is located in Houston, but can be picked up or transported to Illinois for an additional $250.
