Winnie's Story

Breed: Winnie's mom was a Chiweenie and dad is unknown.

DOB: 9/19/2025 (6 months old at time of posting)

Weight: currently 9.5 lbs, should max out at 12-15 lbs

Likes: Toys, snacks, belly rubs, and a good pile of dog beds!

Crate trained/House broken: Winnie is crate trained and is working on house training. In her previous home, Winnie never left the house, not even to go outside. So, she has really come a long way in the short amount of time she has been in foster care.

Energy level: Medium. Winnie loves to run and play with her foster siblings in the yard. And she gets little zoomie spurts in the house. But she also has a great "couch potato" mode and loves to snuggle with her people.

Fenced yard: Required. Winnie is learning to wear a collar and doesn't really know how to walk on a leash yet. So, a fully fenced, 4 sided yard where she can go out to potty and run and play freely will be imperative for her as she learns. Underground or wireless fencing will not be accepted for this particular dog.

Medical notes: Winnie got a clean bill of health from our vet. She is up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, spayed, microchipped, and is on monthly flea/tick/heartworm prevention.

Notes from foster: Winnie can be a bit timid when she first meets people or goes into new situations. If you're patient and encouraging, she will warm up quickly. Winnie would benefit from a home that can slowly start giving her positive social/public experiences. She does like children, but they will also need to understand how to allow her to warm up and not startle her.

If you are interested in giving Winnie the permanent, loving home that she deserves, please fill out an application at the link below to get the ball rolling on a meet and greet.

https://form.jotform.com/202046006590041

If this link doesn't open by clicking on it, just copy and paste it into a new browser.

Adopters must live within a 45 mile radius of Winston-Salem.
