Winky's Story

Winky is a gentle little Pekingese mix with a heart full of love and a story that makes him all the more special. After losing one eye and becoming blind in the other, Winky is bravely learning how to navigate the world again—and he’s doing it with quiet resilience and a whole lot of sweetness.

He’s a low-energy companion who would much rather be curled up in your arms than running laps around the yard. In fact, cuddling is his absolute favorite activity—he truly lives for being close to his person.

Winky can be a little shy when meeting new people but with a bit of patience and a gentle approach, he warms up and settles in. Given his blindness, he just needs a little extra time to feel safe and understand his surroundings.

On walks, he’s incredibly easy to handle—he takes things nice and slow, stopping to sniff and take in the world at his own pace. While Winky does well passing other dogs on walks and is generally unbothered by them outside, he will probably do best as the only dog in the household.

Winky would thrive in a calm, patient home where he can continue to adjust and build trust. In return, he’ll give you endless affection, quiet companionship, and the kind of bond that only a truly special dog can offer.

If you’re looking for a loving, low-key cuddle buddy who just wants to be close to you, Winky might be your perfect match
