Winifred's Story

Winifred AKA Freddie is a cute and shy likely Cardigan Welsh Corgi mix that came to Murci's Mission from SCRAPS. She has an estimated birthday of 05/10/2025.

Freddie is loving, happy, and friendly. She is very active and playful. If you reach for her she'll run, unless she's in her "designated spot" on the couch and it's her idea, you can easily pick her up.

Training is slow with Freddie because she is so skittish. But she's a smart girl. She's a bit of a thief and a heavy, heavy chewer. So, things that you don't want chewed should be out of reach. And plenty of chews and stuffed toys should be available.

Given time Freddie will calm down and adapt. If you sit down she will happily come to see you. Freddie is an adorable work in progress. Patience and kindness will win her over.

She adores other dogs, big or small. She's very affectionate with them but will also party if that's the vibe.

Freddie has not once shown any aggression, snapped or growled.

She will take treats if you set them in front of her and will eat a few pieces of her dinner at a time. If free feeding is an option, Freddie will be happy. Also simple bowls are better. Dispensing food/water sounds worry her.

Freddie has a fair amount of quirks. But she's totally worth it.

Winifred comes spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and dewormed. Her adoption fee is $300 and includes her leash, collar, harness, ID tag, food sample, medical records, and a complimentary consultation with a behaviorist to help get everyone off on the right paw. To be considered to adopt, please begin by visiting www.murcismission.org and sending in an application.

Murci's Mission 's Adoption Policy
Thank you for choosing to apply with Murci's Mission! We are a foster based 501c3 that specializes in animals with medical and behavioral needs. We do not have a facility or set hours of operation. To be considered to adopt with us, your first step will be to submit an adoption application. From there we will read through our application and make sure that we feel like you and your household will be a good match for your desired pet. If we feel that you are a good match, we will contact you via phone or email to ask any questions we may have and to let you know that we are beginning the process of screening your application. We will then call your references and vet, and finally schedule a meet and greet with you at a time that works for you at your place of residence where we will perform a brief homecheck to ensure there are no immediate dangers to the pet. In most cases, adoption can take place at the end of the meet and greet. For particularly shy pets, or pets that may need more time to warm up to resident animals, additional meet and greets may need to take place. We look forward to meeting you and thank you immensely for choosing to adopt.
