Wilma's Story

Breed: Great Pyrenees mix
Sex: Female, spayed
Age: 4 years
Weight: 65 lb
Location: NC
Good with other dogs: Yes with slow introduction
Good with cats: No
Good with kids: Older, gentle kids 10 & up
Crate trained: Yes
Housebroken: Yes
Health: Very good. Is on Prozac for anxiety
Vaccinations: Current
Heartworm Prevention: Current
Microchip: Yes

Meet beautiful Wilma! This gentle soul loves nothing more than lounging on the couch and turning over for some belly rubs. Wilma is 4 years old, and is a Great Pyrenees mix, but she is 100% Good Dog. Wilma is the most loyal shadow dog you’ll ever meet! Wilma has had professional in-home training, and attended group doggie training classes regularly. She is fully house trained, crate trained, and knows all the basic commands and more. She gets along great with other dogs but doesn’t like it when they try to take her treats or dinner (who does?!). A quiet dog, Wilma never barks unless she's alerting you that your Amazon package has arrived.

Wilma loves to train and is food-motivated. She adores brain-games, thriving on mental stimulation. Her ideal home would be a fairly quiet one with a regular routine in a dog-savvy household that is fairly active. No need for triathlons, regular walks are great. She does well with familiar dogs, and would thrive with a confident, well-socialized, well-adjusted canine sibling. She likes to play with dogs or kids, but at her own pace.

Wilma needs a calm, consistent home, ideally with a fenced in backyard, though she does like to go for walks. Wilma loves her people so much that she struggles with some separation anxiety, however she has made huge strides with her training and daily Prozac. Wilma would make a great addition to any home that can provide her with the love, consistency, and the patience she needs to thrive.

If you think that Wilma would be a good fit for your home, please put in an application! https://www.abetteresetter.org/wilma https://www.abetteresetter.org/adopt

We are a national breed rescue group and our process is designed to make sure we are very careful in the placement of all of our rescue dogs. Here's the link to our online adoption application in case you haven't already started. https://www.abetteresetter.org/adopt There is no cost or obligation for completing the application. Within a few days you'll receive a phone call from one of our volunteers to discuss your application. We do check vet references and conduct home visits. In our rescue they are fostered in a home and our intention is that they are never abandoned or let down again.
