Willow's Story

Meet Willow! She was rescued from a bad living situation. She was kept in a small crate and was so skinny her hip bones were sticking out. Her collar was so small, at 20lbs she was wearing a collar that fits my 8lb dog. She still has a ring around her neck even though the hair has grown in. She was born Aug 29th, she’s a Labrador/Jack Russell mix and weighs 38 lbs. she’s very smart. She knows sit, wait, working on down and “shake” knows “crate” and “drop it” when it comes to her toys too. She eats her meals in her crate and she doesn’t chew on anything other than her toys. She’s house trained and crate trained and if you tell her to “wait” at the door you can wipe her paws before she comes inside. She will either stand or sit at the door to go outside and she sits at the door when she’s ready to come inside. She stands still in the walk in shower for bath time. I sit on the floor and although she doesn’t love it she’ll sit between my legs and lets me clip her nails. She rides very well in the car. She walks ok on leash and likes eating carrots, celery, bell peppers, and apples. Between 8-9pm she goes out to potty and if you tell her “it’s time for a buddy biscuit” she’ll go in her crate and it’s time for bed. She’ll sleep until about 7:30am, she’ll whine quietly in her crate until you let her out to go potty. She’s not food or toy aggressive with dogs or humans. She’s very sweet and friendly with everyone she’s met.
