Willow's Story

Meet Willow, aka “Pillow Willow” due to her love of bed snuggles. She is a perfect little 9 lb, 2-year-old chi mix!

Background: Willow came to the Arizona Humane Society with her two 1-week-old puppies in heartbreaking condition. She was covered in ticks, severely anemic, and suffering from sarcoptic mange. Despite everything she had endured, Willow never stopped caring for her babies. We welcomed this tiny family into our rescue so they could receive the love, medical care, and safety they desperately needed. Considering the harsh desert summer conditions they were surviving in, it feels like a miracle that all three made it. Her puppies have since found their forever homes, and now it's Willow's turn.

Personality: Willow is a perfect little companion. She adores people and would happily spend her entire day by your side, whether you're relaxing at home, working, or running errands. She gets along beautifully with dogs of all sizes in her foster home, but she would likely be just as happy soaking up all the attention as an only pet.

Health: Despite her difficult start in life, Willow has made a full recovery and does not have any known long-term health concerns. She is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on all vaccines.

Training: Willow is a well-mannered little lady with excellent house habits. She is fully house-trained, crate-trained, and walks nicely on a leash.

Ideal Home: Willow is a sweet, easygoing girl whose favorite place is right next to her person. While she can adapt to different living situations, she would thrive in a calm, low-key home where she can spend her days cuddling, relaxing, and being close to her family. She would especially love a home where her people are around more often than not, as companionship is what makes her happiest. Because of her tiny size, a securely fenced yard is ideal so she can safely explore and enjoy the outdoors. Families in the Phoenix area should be mindful of local wildlife and always supervise her outside to keep her safe from coyotes and other desert predators.

Adoption Requirements: Willow’s adoption fee is $350. If you live in the Phoenix metro area and think she could be the right fit for you, please complete an adoption application*: helpadogsmile.org/adoption-application

*Please note that the application is not a commitment to adopt–it is a tool used to help determine if a dog and applicant would make a good match. Applications are forwarded to the foster family for review and follow-up.
