Willow's Story

Dog's Name: Willow

Gender: Female

Current Age: 1 to 2 years

Current Weight: 35 lbs

Breed: Australian Shepherd/Husky

Energy Level: Medium-High

Dog Friendly: Yes, and can have other dogs in the home or can be an only dog.

Cat Friendly: Unknown

Kids: Yes, any age

Apartment Friendly: No

Fence Requirements: Physical fence preferred but not required with regular walks/exercise.

Crate Trained: No, but working on it

Potty Trained: Not fully potty trained, working on it

Ideal Home / Adopter: Someone with time and patience to stimulate her and get her exercise. She can probably thrive in most homes but needs her energy burned off. She has a bark that will turn into a Husky howl, and she's not afraid to use it, so appreciation for her singing voice is a must.

Likes: Affectionate, kisses, cuddles, walks, treats, peanut butter, and fancy wet food. She likes walks but is a little intimidated outside.

Dislikes: Does not like being left alone in a crate but is getting better. For her safety, she will require a heavy-duty crate. She startles easily.

Very sweet and affectionate, Willow is learning the ropes of being a house dog and picking things up quickly. She's smart, beautiful with her golden locks, and full of personality, with plenty of kisses to share. She can be a little vocal when left alone, but otherwise she's fairly quiet and happy to soak up attention and cuddles.

All fees include spay/neuter, microchip, vaccinations, deworming, and the dog will be current on flea, tick, and heartworm preventatives. All dogs over 6 months of age have been tested and are heartworm negative.

We have a single application whether you want to adopt a dog, foster a dog in need, or volunteer with our organization. Please note: Our application takes up to 30 minutes to complete. Our application is very detailed because we want to understand the specific needs of your home and match you with the best dog or volunteer opportunity possible. We require all adopters to complete this application in its entirety before discussing the potential adoption of a dog. RESCUEDohio application process: - Return a fully completed application to us. Incomplete applications will not be considered (you should receive an email confirming your submission). - We review your application, contact vet and personal references, and contact your landlord if applicable. - Next, we schedule a home visit with you. A home visit may be done in-person or virtually by one of our volunteers. All members of your home must be present for the home visit. - Next, we approve or deny your application and notify you. Check your spam folder as our communications are sometimes categorized incorrectly. - If your application is approved, we will forward your application to the foster family who is fostering a dog that fits your application criteria. They will contact you to set up a meet-and-greet so you can meet the dog. - If the meet-and-greet is successful, we will notify you and arrange to finalize the adoption. You will sign an adoption contract and pay the adoption fee in order to finalize the adoption. You enjoy a lifetime of love and devotion from your new four-legged friend!
